A few months back our long time Polaris stylist Andrea came to us and asked us if we would be interested in hosting a benefit for Autism. Her son Adam was diagnosed at the age of 3 with severe autism and her son Erin at age 6 was diagnosed with Asperger’s syndrome. As a parent, she feels blessed to have all the right tools, schools and therapists that Columbus has been able to provide and she wanted to take this opportunity to pay it forward. Andrea and her sons’ father Mike Hoover, (founder of The Make It Fit Foundation) have made it their personal mission to help other parents and children who are less fortunate. We love Andrea and were excited to help her and Mike with their mission. There is a specific need in our local community for iPads; which can allow a child with special needs to have a voice when they are non-verbal. Together with The Make It Fit Foundation and Cookies For iPads we began planning the Kenneth’s Beauty Benefit.

At the Kenneth’s Beauty Benefit our technicians volunteered that day offering Men’s and Women’s Haircuts, Express Massages, Express Facials, Crystal Salt Glow Manicures and Express Pedicures. During the benefit all services were $40 each, 100% of the proceeds were donated to The Make It Fit Foundation. Thanks to everyone who came in to enjoy our services and volunteer to perform them, we were able to raise $5,000!
