Join an award-winning, Best Places to Work for 8 years, at Kenneth's Hair Salons and Day Spas! Come work for a fun and supportive team that realizes you desire schedule flexibility but also want to make the most of yourself and your career. As one of our seasoned Hair Stylists, you can make a six-figure income in as little as three days per week! We also work with you to develop a schedule and pace that allows you to be successful, but not feel you are always juggling or struggling.

Building Success

At Kenneth's, you become an employee-owner! We are 100% employee-owned. You may be wondering, what does this mean? We are as concerned with your long-term security as your current success goals. We also offer many benefits such as insurance (we pay 2/3), 401k, paid vacations, as well as many other incentives that reward you with time/schedule perks and/or compensation! You will not find a benefits package like we offer anywhere–locally or nationally.

We have a strong behind the scenes team working for you. This dedicated team schedules your appointments, orders your supplies, coordinates your ongoing training, handles all of the day-to-day salon business so you can focus on your clients - and your income.

A Quick Turn Around

Our rapid integration process understands you want to get moving. We have an accelerated onboarding program for experienced stylists, and we can help you make your transition to Kenneth's smooth and effective. In as little as two to six weeks, you could be working in one of our nine world-class locations around greater Columbus! We can't wait to talk to you about where you have been and where you want to go!

We Hear You

As an experienced stylist, we also understand you may have concerns over “signing your life away.” Harsh contracts can make it a challenge to consider working for a certain salon or spa. We offer a very fair non-solicitation agreement that DOES NOT have a proximity clause telling you where you can or cannot work. More importantly, the clients you bring with you are not part of your agreement!

What Makes A Great Hair Stylist?

A hair stylist is a listener, in more ways than one. It's true that many of your guests will love sharing the ups, downs and dramas of their lives with you. You can show your consideration by listening and carrying on the conversation. The most significant act of listening you can experience as a stylist is during the initial consultation with your guest. It's important to clarify exactly what they want from their service to avoid miscommunication. Before you pick up the shears or mix the color, it is imperative that you and your guest are on the same page. They will also be on top of the latest trends.

A truly great stylist has the skill to integrate those trends into their guests' personal styles. Your elevated taste and killer eye should let you set a few trends of your own. At the end of the day, it's important that you can not only create a vision but execute it as well!

An important quality a stylist should possess is honesty. Hair stylists have to understand face shape and hair types to create looks that complement their guests' natural features. Hair stylists have to be honest about what looks good and offer recommendations to create a style that matches each person's unique fashion sense in a way that still looks good. It's one thing for your guest to be happy with their new look when they're walking out the door, but it's better to make sure they're just as happy a month later.

One of the number one complaints salons receive from guests is sticker shock. This occurs because they didn't know how much something actually cost. If you suggest an add-on or elevated service while your guest is in the chair, make sure you convey the extra costs. An unexpected cost could ruin a great relationship between a stylist and the guest.

We've all heard “practice makes perfect” throughout our lives, and it is still true in every sense of the word. You have to make sure you're familiar with a number of techniques and tools, and hone your ability to keep your energy up while working on your feet all day.

An excellent stylist can adapt to changing trends, new tools and guest visions that are hard to achieve. You never know what your day will bring you, so it's imperative that you're confident. Your creativity, vision and skill can all come into play to help you achieve a stellar result and a happy guest.
