Celebrating Another Kenneth’s Anniversary with Gratitude

On June 1st, 1977, a young visionary named Kenneth Anders opened the doors of his very first salon in Columbus, Ohio located at 5151 Reed Rd.What started as a small-town dream has grown into something truly remarkable—a network of ten thriving locations throughout Columbus, a national reputation for excellence, and a legacy of beauty, education, and innovation that continues to touch thousands of lives each year.

Today, as we are marking another anniversary, we reflect not only on how far we’ve come, but on the incredible people who’ve helped shape the Kenneth’s story. Kenneth’s has always embraced what’s next. And yet, the heart of our business has never changed: it’s about people. About feeling good. About building trust and relationships that last a lifetime.

Our gratitude today starts with Kenneth himself. His vision didn’t just build a salon; it built a culture—one where education, creativity, and care thrive. His passion for ongoing learning led to the creation of Kenneth’s Academy, where future beauty professionals continue to receive award-winning training. His decision in 2007 to transition the company to an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) is now one of the most defining and proudest aspects of our story. Kenneth’s isn’t just a place to work—it’s a place to belong.

To our current employee-owners: your artistry, dedication, and heart make all the difference. You’re the reason clients feel seen, valued, and beautiful. Every balayage, every facial, every genuine smile you share—these are the touches that turn first-time visits into lifelong relationships. You don’t just do great work. You care deeply, and it shows.

To those who have walked with us through the years–who helped shape our journey—we thank you. You were part of building something special, and your fingerprints remain in the fabric of our success.

But above all, we thank our clients. You are the reason Kenneth’s exists. Whether you’ve been with us for 40 years or 4 weeks, your loyalty, referrals, feedback, and friendship have been the fuel behind everything we do. You’ve brought your stories to our chairs, your families to our care, and your trust into our hands—and we’re honored by every moment.

We Thank Our Clients

I scheduled a haircut with Haley as my normal stylist is on maternity leave. I cannot say enough positive things about the experience! Haley is warm and friendly and fun - she immediately puts you at ease. Haley is super knowledgeable and professional - she set to work connecting layers, tapering and removing bulk. By the end of my appointment I truly loved my hair and felt lighter and more stylish. I highly recommend Haley - she was a delight!

SKYE at the Powell Salon is my new go to stylist for sure! I had some severe grey grow out & all that had to go! She sold me on a therapy treatment for the cuticles of my hair & it was amazing, something I wouldnt normally do but so happy I did. I had 3 surgeries with full anesthesia since T-giving making my hair & skin really dry, no sheen, just a mess! I am loving my cut & color!! Thanks Skye?? I had the same stylist in Ft. Lauderdale for 20 years & he retired... SERIOUS life change?? ?? I relocated back to Ohio Delaware, & r in the mid-nintys I went to Kenneth's at Mill Run so let's give Kenneth's a go. Thrilled with Powell location for my cut / color applications. I have referred 2 friends to Kenneths Powell location & Skye will be doing a cut on my friend Kari Sat. a.m. (Prom Mom pics)??

Bella did such a great job with my hair cut. She listened very well to what I wanted while also giving her own suggestions. I will definitely be back!
