When Beauty Meets Dessert: A Kenneth’s Client Spotlight on Lesley Huddle of House of Suga

At Kenneth’s, beauty is more than the surface. It’s about belonging. About honoring creativity in all its forms — and especially when it comes from the incredible people who sit in our chairs.

One client who’s been making waves for years? Lesley Huddle, the creative force behind House of Suga (@lesleyhuddle), and a Kenneth’s guest since 1996. Her dessert artistry has long been known and celebrated — so much so that her work recently became the spark for a fresh idea at the very top of our company.

Lesley's Dessert Artistry

After our rebrand gala, launching January 1st, where we celebrated a bold new look for Kenneth’s, someone at our executive office said it best: You know who could turn this logo into something iconic? Lesley from House of Suga. That moment kicked off a conversation about collaboration, creativity, and what it means to truly support the talent within our own community.

From Fashion Design to Sugar Design

From Fashion Design to Sugar Design

Lesley’s path to pastry was anything but typical.

With a degree in fashion design and years as a professional stylist, her foundation in creativity was always strong. “I’ve been making things my whole life,” she shared. “Whether it’s baking, painting, sewing — if I can make it with my hands, I will.”

She began baking at just seven years old, inspired by her mom’s dinner parties and her own fascination with Julia Child. “I followed her recipes to a tee,” Lesley said. “Flambé apples, made from scratch — I loved it.”

What began as a passion quickly turned into a full-service catering business, eventually evolving into her true love: baking high-end, highly visual confections. Word of mouth and Instagram built her client base, but it’s Lesley’s originality and craftsmanship that made House of Suga a name that travels — all the way to boardroom brainstorms.

Client, Creator, Community

Client, Creator, Community

Lesley’s not just a client — she’s family. Her connection to Kenneth’s spans nearly three decades, and she’s been with her trusted stylist, Sara, since 2000.

“Coming to Kenneth’s is like seeing family,” she said. “I know I’m going to get what I need done — and it’s going to be done right. But it’s also about seeing familiar faces, catching up with people I’ve known for years, and sharing stories. It’s a part of my life.”

That sense of community is mutual. Lesley is known, loved, and talked about — not just by her stylist, but by the team behind the scenes. And when it came time to dream up a detail that could turn our rebrand celebration into something truly special, her name was the first to come up.

Creativity as a Lifestyle

For Lesley, creativity isn’t a job. It’s a way of life.

“My brain doesn’t turn off,” she told us. “Every part of my day — what I’m making, what I’m wearing, how I’m serving dinner — it’s all part of the creative process. It’s who I am.”

That kind of energy — vibrant, intentional, and deeply personal — mirrors everything we value at Kenneth’s. Beauty, after all, is full-spectrum. And it lives in the details, whether it’s the shape of a layered cut or the glint of gold leaf on a sugar sculpture.

What’s Next: A Sweet Collaboration?

What’s Next: A Sweet Collaboration

We’re continuing to explore ways to collaborate with creatives like Lesley — not as an afterthought, but as the detail that makes the moment. A sugar handbag inspired by our new logo? That’s exactly the kind of playful, elevated touch we’d love to bring to life.

In a world that moves fast, artists like Lesley remind us to pause. To create. To connect.

And in a salon like Kenneth’s — where service meets soul — that’s the kind of beauty we’re here for.
